Services for Lawrence P. Mitchell, 77, were held Tuesday in Tipton, with the Rev. Howard Dukelow in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

He died Saturday.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Monmouth June 16, 1881. He was a retired laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Cornelia; 2 daughters, Lavonne Martens, Newhall, Calif., and Mrs. Rebecca Freeman, Phoenix, Ariz.; 2 sons, Lawrence Jr., Davenport, and Carl, Newman, Calif., and 3 grandchildren.
