Graveside services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Masonic cemetery for John C. Lyle, 86, who died Sept. 18 at the Cedar county home where he had lived for more than 28 years. The Rev. A. C. Long was in charge.

He had been a patient at Oakdale during most of the last three years, returning to the county home about a month ago.

The son of John C. Lyle, a pioneer of Cedar county, he was born July 4, 1872, and was the last member of his immediate family. He spent his entire life in the Tipton vicinity and was a member of the Methodist church.
