Mrs. Thomas Sorensen, 78, of West Branch, died Nov. 6 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, where she had been a patient several weeks.

Sena Sorensen was born in Denmark Nov. 15, 1879, the daughter of Jens and Christina Christensen. She was married to Thomas Sorensen in Denver, Colo., July 23, 1904.

She had lived at West Branch since 1905. She was a member of the Friends church.

Surviving her are her husband, three sons, Alvin, Iowa City; Vernon, Flint, Mich.; Lysle, Hartford, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Hogan, Iowa City and Mrs. Bernice Kofron, West Branch; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Josie Christiansen, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Nora Christensen, Harbor City, Calif.; Mrs. Emma Christensen, Dodge Center, Minn., and Mrs. Helga Clausen, Flint, Mich. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at West Branch, with Mr. and Mrs. J. Taylor Guthrie officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
