Lorena Abbott Witmer, daughter of Orianna Augusta Nye and Johnson Clark Abbott, was born October 9, 1870, at Melpine, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Tipton, Wednesday, March 12.

She was the fourth of eight children born to Clark and Orianna Nye Abbott, all of whom are gone now except Mrs. Oriana Roth of Winter Haven, Florida.

She was educated in the Wilton schools and for a time she held secretarial positions in Kearney, Neb. and Chicago, Ill.

She was married in Chicago, Ill., June 14th, 1908, to S. Frank Witmer of Tipton, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, a step-daughter, Mrs. Howard Speakman, of Tucson, Ariz., a step-son, Clarence Witmer of Glendale, Cal., one sister, Mrs. John C. Roth of Winter Haven, Fla., and two nieces, Mrs. K. K. Stokes, of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. E. E. Hay of Oshkosh, Wis.

Services were Saturday forenoon, March 15, in the Sheets funeral home with Rev. Raymon Ferguson of the First Presbyterian church in charge. Burial in Masonic cemetery, Tipton, Iowa.
