Stanwood, Ia. March 15 -- The funeral services for the late Mr. Lewis Hart, whose death occurred at his home Thursday afternoon after a lingering and painful illness, was held at the Methodist Episcopal church Sabbath morning and was attended by a large number of friends which packed the church to the door, all anxious to pay their respects to one who had lived a noble, upright life in this community for more than forty years. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Shear, with music by the quartet, consisting of Messrs Anthony, Stocker, Hamilton and Haesenmeyer, and the remains were taken to Olin for interment. Mr. Hart was in his 79th year and leaves his wife, three sons, eight grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters to mourn his death. He was widely known as a man of wealth and influence, a strong Christian character and is sincerely mourned by the entire community.

Mr. Jerome Hart, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Clancy and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clark of Clinton attended the funeral of their brother and uncle, Mr. Hart, Sunday.
