Mr. Gilbert Henry Phelps passed away at his home two miles west of Rochester, Saturday morning, Nov. 19, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 17 days. He was born Sept. 2, 1869, in Cedar county, Iowa, the son of William and Susan Phelps.

He was millright operator.

Survived by his wife, Jessie, two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Barkalow, of Wilton Junction, Janet Phelps, at home; two sons, William and Keith; one brother John Phelps of West Branch; three sisters, Gussie Maxson of Tipton, Alice Herrold of Pasadena, Calif., and Orpha Brunsvold of Burbank, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 22, 1955, in the Sheets and Dahn funeral home at 2 p.m. with Raymon Ferguson officiating, and burial in Springdale cemetery.
