Clara White was born in Virginia, July 26, 1874, and died at her home near West Branch, Iowa, May 8, 1908.

Her girlhood was passed at the old home in Virginia. She was married to H. K. McHenry March 29, 1904. The young people immediately removed to Iowa where they have since resided. Seldom has it been our duty to record so sudden a death. A dark gloom spread over the hearts of their many friends when it was said from one to another that she was gone. She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways. Only four years ago she was married to H. K. McHenry whom she leaves with one small child, too young to know a mother's loss. Her sickness was of but short duration; seemingly with us today, active in life's round of duties, but gone tomorrow.

The remains were taken by the heart-broken husband and father, together with the little one to the old Virginia home, there to be laid to rest on the familiar hillside that memory holds dear.

The McHenrys were a hard working young couple, respected by all who knew them and from one and all will come that much needed sympathy which in a measure tempers the poignancy of grief.
