Miss Nancy Jane Hanley was born at Cambridge, Henry county, Ill., July 10, 1851, and died at the home of her son, John Berry, at Downey, Iowa, March 25, 1919.

At the age of 26 years she married Duffy Berry of near Brinfield, Peoria county, Ill. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Beckle Roberts of Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. Geta Roberts of Peoria, Ill., John and Fred Berry of Downey, Iowa, and Minnie and Floyd Berry, who died in childhood. Besides these she leaves to mourn her loss three grandchildren--Bolen and Florence Berry of Downey and Irvin Roberts of Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. M. A. Ludlum of Galva, Ill., and two brothers, James Hanley of Rio, Ill., and J. D. Wilkey of Enid, Okla.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. L. Dewey at the Downey Baptist church, Friday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in Downey cemetery.
