SUDDEN DEATH--Late last evening the news came over the wires from Springdale, of the death of a well known and highly esteemed citizen of that place, Elisha Negus, who died about 6 o'clock P.M. His death was caused by an injury received on Wednesday. He was in the barn attending the stock, and while in a stall beside a cow, the animal made an effort to turn around, and in doing so caught his body between her own and the wall, causing internal injuries, from which he suffered untold agonies for about twenty-four hours, when death came to his relief. The funeral services will occur at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Friends' church at Springdale.

Mr. Negus was 57 years of age. He was born in Green County, Pennsylvania Dec. 10th, 1825. He came to Iowa in 1848 and married Elmira Fawcett in 1848.
