Mary Cope, an old and respected resident, died at her home on Green street Saturday evening. The funeral was held from the Friends church Monday afternoon and was largely attended.

She is survived by one son, Henry. She was for many years a widow.

Mary H. Enlow was born the 30th day of October, 1824, in Stark Co., Ohio, and departed this life Dec. 12, 1908, at the age of 84 years.

She was married to Oliver Cope, Apr. 29th, 1847. She was the mother of two children, a daughter and a son. The son survives his mother. The husband and daughter both passed away in the year 1854.

Mrs. Cope came to Iowa in 1871, and has lived in or near West Branch since that time. She was a birthright member of the Friends church, and was always loyal to the church of her choice.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Friends church, conducted by her pastor.
