William Buckley Browning was born at Hendersonville, Kentucky, June 20, 1865, and passed away at his home in West Branch, Iowa, after a lingering illness, on April 24, 1919, aged 53 years and 10 months

He was one of a family of nine, only three of the family surviving, Dr. Eli Browning of Medeapolis, Iowa, Mrs. Geo. Crowe of Tonkawa, Okla., and Mrs. Dr. Billings of Wichita, Kansas.

At the age of two years he moved with his parents to Bates county, Mo., where he grew to manhood.

Mr. Browning came to Iowa in 1897 and was married to Lillie Mae Barnes Dec. 19, 1902, who died Oct. 17, 1914. To this union was born one daughter, Aurelia Maud, who survives to mourn with his bereaved widow.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Embree on April 26, 1916. To this union was born on daughter, Suzetta Idris, who is left to comfort the widowed mother in this sad hour.

Mr. Browning was always interested in the church. He united with the Christian church when 18 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted at the house last Sunday afternoon by the Rev. G. J. Chalice and the services at the grave were in charge of the members of the local Masonic lodge. Interment in West Branch cemetery.
