15 March 1906 - West Branch Times

Emmet Crozer, whose death was announced in these columns last week, died on Wednesday, February 21, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Hannah Crozer. The cause of his death being dropsy. His friends and relatives who watched him through his lingering illness and noted returning strength come to his weakened body, were confident that his strong will would conquer, and that he would again be able to mingle with them. The Tuesday morning before his death, as he looked and saw warm and glad sunshine, he felt that the springlike air of the morning would put new life into his being, and, feeling unusually well, he went down town to visit some of his old friends. This exertion may have hastened his death, for the next morning he was in a condition so weak that the end soon came.

Emmett Crozer was born in Cedar county in 1856 and came in 1879 to Lake View, where he has since lived. Having a frail constitution, he was never able to enter into the business activities of life. He was fond of boating and of our Wall lake, and at one time ran a fleet of boats upon its waters. After the burning of his large steamer, he sold out his interests.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church and were conducted by Rev. Isaac B. Bickford, pastor of the Congregational church, of which denomination Mr. Crozer was a member. The Modern Woodmen of America and the Odd Fellows, with which societies he was identified, attended the funeral services.

A mother, five brothers and one sister remain. Emmet Crozer had a generous nature and was kind to everybody. The number of his friends was shown by the large gathering which attended the last sad rites. --Sac Sun.
