27 September 1906 - West Branch Times

Early this morning Bathsheba Gruwell, wife of Aaron Gruwell, an aged and respected citizen, passed quietly away. She had been ailing for sometime and her death was not unexpected.

Since 1854 this venerable couple have been residents of this community, having lived at different places, but always near West Branch.

For the past few years they have made their home with their youngest son, A. C. Gruwell, near town. On July 6, of this year, they celebrated their sixty-ninth anniversary, having been married July 6, 1837. At the time of her death Mrs. Gruwell had reached the venerable age of 90 years, 8 months and 6 days. Her's has been a useful life and her death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends, but more especially by her aged husband, who has been her constant companion all these years.

The funeral services have not been arranged at this time.

4 October 1906 - West Branch Times

The funeral of Mrs. Aaron Gruwell at 10 o'clock a.m., last Saturday, was largely attended. The services were held at the residence and interment at the Honey Grove cemetery northeast of town.
