12 September 1907 - West Branch Times

About eight o'clock, Sept. 5th, Hon. T. B. Miller, one of Stanwood's most influential and popular citizens, dropped dead from heart failure, on the porch of the late M. L. Simmons home. A company consisting of Fred Davidson, Mrs. M. L. Simmons, Mrs. Olive Davidson, Theo. Bates of Wyoming, Will Graves and H. Bush of Sparta, Wis., were enjoying a pleasant conversation on the porch. The conversation had turned to a car of cattle that had been lost on the road somewhere, when without a sound or murmur, Mr. Miller's head sank to his breast and he expired almost instantly. All that human beings could do was done for him but to no avail. A physician was summoned but he had expired before the physician's arrival. Tender and loving hands carried him to his home near by. Mrs. Olive Davidson and son, Fred, broke the news to his wife and daughter. They are prostrated with grief. His three sons from Clarence were summoned at once and arrived as soon as possible. Mrs. Miller and her children have the most sincere sympathy of the entire county in their deep sorrow. The funeral services will be held from the M.E. church Sunday afternoon and interment will be in the Stanwood cemetery. The loss of Hon. T. B. Miller to the people Cedar county can never be replaced.--Stanwood Herald.
