Kristen Madsen was born in Denmark, May 9, 1856, and departed this life March 6, 1919, aged 62 years, 9 months and 27 days.

He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Hannah, and five children--Adolph of Dubuque, Matilda Burnett of Springdale, Einar now stationed at Camp Pike, Ark., Efra Maxon of West Liberty and Elmer at home. Also three brothers and three sisters.

He came to this country in 1888 and since that time he has been a resident of Cedar county. He was a man noted for his honesty and uprightness among his fellow men.

The funeral services were held in the Springdale Friends church conducted by the pastors, Melvin and Anna Smith, assisted by Lars Hanson.
