CURL, GRUWELL, FIKE, BROGAN

Last Saturday morning shortly after nine o'clock, S. H. Curl passed away at the home of his son-in-law, H. I. Gruwell, the immediate cause of death being bowel trouble. Four months and a half ago Mr. Curl fell and injured his hip, since which time he has been confined to his bed.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church, Rev. Moody officiating, assisted by Rev. Johnston.

S. H. Curl was born in Salem, Ohio, July 17, 1817. When about forty-two years of age he went to West Branch, Ia., and lived at that place, or near vicinity, for thirty years, with the exception of two or three years passed in Illinois. Mr. Curl came to Elsinore about thirteen years ago. He was 84 years, 7 months and 29 days old at the time of his death. Four children survive him: Alec Curl, who lives in the state of Washington; Mrs. Eunice Fike of Blainville, Kas.; Mrs. Maria Brogan of Springdale, Ia., and Mrs. H. I. Gruwell. --Elsinore Press
