Neal Christian Paulsen was born at Sassing, Denmark, 11th Mo. 20th, 1846, where 55 years ago he married Dorothy Marie Jensen. In 1902 he brought his family to America, and soon settled near Springdale, where he died 5th Mo. 1st, 1927. He is survived by his widow and five of their ten children: Namely--Martinos Paulsen of Sioux City, Mrs. Viggo Petersen, Mrs. Anton Jensen, Walter Paulsen and Joshua Paulsen of this vicinity.

Early in life Neal Paulsen recognized the voice of Christ, and by following the leading of the Holy Spirit, he became a strong man in Christ Jesus. His conversation was helpful to those who were striving to follow the Master. His voice was at times heard in meeting exhorting his hearers to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. His faith enabled him so to live, that the fear of death was taken away in the hope of a glorious immortality.
