20 December 1928 - West Branch Times

Mrs. M. E. Tomlinson, who had been ill for some months, died at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon at the Friends church, conducted by Rev. G. W. Hervey.

27 December 1928 - West Branch Times

Mary Elizabeth Myers was born in New York City March 1, 1844, and died in West Branch Dec. 18, 1928, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 17 days.

When a young child she came to Iowa with her parents, who settled on a farm near West Liberty, where she grew to young womanhood.

In April, 1865, she was married to David Wakelee of Downey. The new home was made on a farm near Downey and here her husband's death occurred in September, 1889.

To this union one child, Leonard, was born, who died in June, 1899.

She was again married to Ellis Tomlinson of West Branch in February, 1897.

The home was made in West Branch for many years and his death occurred at this place in November, 1897.

One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
