Funeral services for Mrs. Forest (Lola Marie) Shrope, 81, were held at the United Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville, Dec. 22, with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Pallbearers were James Miller, Lyle Tonne, Paul Hines, Robert Wethington and Craig and Dennis Pearson. Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist and Leo Frederick was soloist.

Mrs. Shrope died at her home Dec. 19.

The daughter of James H. and Cora Arminta Johnson, she was born on a farm south of Mechanicsville where she lived all but 7 years of her life. She was educated in the rural schools of Pioneer township.

She was married to Forest Shrope Aug. 10, 1921. She was a member of United Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Shrope is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Tonne, Anamosa and Mrs. Don (Jean) Davidson, Mechanicsville, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marie and a half-sister.
