Elizabeth Nichols was born in Belmont county, Ohio, Jan. 23, 1837, and died at West Branch, Ia., May 1, 1916.

Her husband, Benjamin F. Shrader, to whom she was married Jan. 22, 1857, passed from earth March 8, 1866.

To Mr. and Mrs. Shrader were born seven children, three of these died in infancy, two daughters in young womanhood and two sons, George C. of West Branch and John F. of Moline, Ill., survive.

Mrs. Shrader for sixty five years a member of the Methodist Church and for over sixty years was a subscriber to the Northwestern Christian Advocate. Hers was the quiet life, devoted to home, to friends and to God, which wields a finer influence for good which is fully appreciated only by the few. As a mother, as friend, as Christian, hers was the life beautiful.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at West Branch conducted by Rev. W. H. Mitchell at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3rd. Interment was made in the Downey cemetery.

Those from out of town who were present were: Mrs. Mary Nichols, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jameson of Vinton, Mr. and Mrs. John Shrader and three children, Mrs. Hanson of Moline and Ed. Shrader of Iowa City.
