Once again has death entered our midst in less than two weeks and removed from among us a young boy.

Edwin Carlisle Lodge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Lodge, died at the home of his parents on Tuesday night, Dec. 30th, at the age of 12 years, 9 months and 13 days. The cause of his death was diabetes, from which he had suffered for several weeks, but was not known to be in such a serious condition until the very day of his death. He was a bright, happy boy and was liked by everyone and was a student in the grammar room of the Downey school.

Besides his parents are six sisters and one brother: Mrs. Louis Dress, Mrs. Guy Summers of Downey, Mrs. Owen Rogers of Iowa City and Zoe, Irma, Eleanor and Melvin at home. One brother, Clifford, died when a baby.

The funeral was held last Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the M.P. church with burial at the Downey cemetery.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in this their hour of trouble.
