Irene Waters, the eldest daughter of Mrs. F. E. Waters, was born Dec. 26, 1903, in Johnson county, Iowa, and died Jan. 29, 1914, at Downey, Iowa, aged 11 years, 1 month and 3 days.

She was sick only a short time when the Angel of Death called her home to meet her father, who preceded her 7 months before.

Irene had a sweet disposition, was loved by all who knew her, was ever thoughtful of others wants, willing and anxious to lighten mother's burdens. She seemed a blessed ray of sunshine in the home. She is gone but not to be forgotten. Her loving kindness will ever be held dear within our hearts.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, three sisters and three brothers, Verda, Leslie, Vesta, Ora, Leland and Fred, with many dear relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the home Saturday, Jan. 31, at 1:00 p.m., Rev. J. S. Wood of Downey officiating. The interment took place in the Downey cemetery. The pall bearers were cousins of the deceased, Walter Smidt, Forrest Barnes, Lyle Mosher and Roy Kelch.
