Nancy Wisener, daughter of Amos and Miranda Wisener, was born in Versailles, Dark county, Ohio, Nov. 23, 1857, and died at the home of her son, Roy Sheets, at West Liberty, Ia., Dec. 19, 1923, aged 66 years, 1 month and 26 days.

She came to Cedar county, Iowa, with her parents when a small child, which has been her home ever since.

She was united in marriage with Jacob Sheets in 1875. To this union five children were born, Arthur of California, Myrtle Stuart of West Branch, Ia., Roy of West Liberty; Frank of Springfield, Ill.; and Mrs. Evelyn Wright of San Diego, Calif. Her husband died in 1900. Her second marriage was with Mr. R. C. Walters, who had preceded her in death.

There remains to mourn her departure and to cherish her memory five children, ten grandchildren, six sisters, Mrs. Noah Harman of Tipton, Mrs. Eli Madson of Tipton, Mrs. F. M. Gruwell of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. E. A. Letizell of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Mrs. H. A. Wise of Shaberton, Pa., and Mrs. Wright of West Branch; two brothers, John Wisener of Burlington, Iowa, and Ernest Wisener of Tipton, and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Walters was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and lived a consistent Christian life.

The bereaved family has the sympathy of a large number of friends in this time of sorrow. May the God of all grace comfort and sustain, for He promised "to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."

The funeral was held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Eli Madson, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. K. Hudson officiating, with burial in Masonic cemetery.
