Services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 for Henry H. Schafer, 86, a resident of Durant for 55 years. Masonic rites will be held at the Durant cemetery. Mr. Schafer died Feb. 19 at his home in Durant.

Mr. Schafer was born in Muscatine County. He married Wilhelmina Ladehoff in Davenport Jan. 20, 1904. The couple farmed in Muscatine and Cedar counties for many years. Mrs. Schafer died in 1961.

Surviving are 2 sons, Henry, Durant, and Louis, Iowa City; a daughter, Dorothy Schafer, Durant; 2 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Sophia Schafer and Mrs. Charles Koll, both of Muscatine.
