2 March 1893 - West Branch Times

The following account of the life of Sarah C. Webster, whose death which occurred on Saturday, Feb. 18th as announced in the TIMES, was taken with some alterations from the WAPSIE INDEX.

Sarah Crozer Webster was born in Flushing, Belmont county, Ohio, Jan. 16, 18??. Here, her girlhood days were spent and on Jan. 10, 18??, she was married to Chas. P. Webster. This place continued to be their home until 18?? when they moved to Cedar Co., Ia., where the family consisting of nine children, have resided since, until a few months before her death when they moved to West Liberty. About eighteen years ago she joined the society of Gurney Friends, of which she remained a member till her death.

Only a little more than a year had passed since the family had been called upon to part with a loved father; and the family which now consists of seven children, again have the sympathy of their many friends, while they are bereft of a dear mother whose life has been so filled with loving acts, not only for her family, but for all about her.

For twelve years before her death she had been a sufferer, but through which time she showed remarkable patience, as she did also in her last sickness. She spent her last hours here in prayer; and expressed her faith in the language of the 31st Psalm: "In thee O Lord do I put my trust."

After brief services at the house and on the following day at the home of one of the daughters, Mrs. T. T. Barrington, in West Branch, where funeral services were again held and conducted by Rev. Pemberton, she was laid to rest by the side of her companion and son in the Friend's cemetery there.
