MARTHA MAE SANDERS was born in Fulton county, Illinois, June 17, 1891, and died at her home near Tipton March 4, 1922, aged thirty years, eight months and fifteen days. She came to Iowa with her parents when but a little child. Her father died in 1898. When twelve years of age Mae went to live with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Flansburg, with whom she resided until her marriage to James A. Long, December 14, 1908.

Six children were born to them, four of whom are living, Laverne, Mildred, Claribel, and Mary Ellen. She is also survived by her husband, her mother and two brothers. Mrs. Long united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Clarence when she was sixteen years old, and continued a member of that society until her decease. As a friend she was highly esteemed. She was a loving and devoted wife, a sacrificing mother. Her untimely death is an irreparable loss to the family and this community. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. W. E. Van Buren Tuesday afternoon with interment in Red Oak cemetery.
