Lou Ella Vincent was born near West Branch, Iowa, April 28, 1877, the oldest daughter of Anna and Harry Vincent. She passed away at her home in Cedar Bluff, Iowa, April 14, 1935, after an illness of four weeks with heart trouble and complications, at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 17 days. She lived practically all her life in Cedar county, except for a few years spent in Fayette and Johnson counties.

She was married Dec. 5, 1895, to William Sailor, who passed away December 9, 1902. To them were born three children, Ruby Irene, Grace Anna and Frank William. She was married to Charles H. Sailor on January 7, 1903. Besides her husband, two daughters and son, and two grandchildren Dorothy and Doris Metz, she is survived by four sisters and three brothers: Mrs. E. J. Sailor, Manilla, Iowa; Mrs. August Grapentine of Racine, Wis.; Mrs. George Simones, of Metamore, Mich.; Mrs. Claude Cooper, San Francisco, Calif.; James and Walter, of West Branch, Ia.; Harlan,, of Tipton, Iowa. One sister, Hazel, preceded her in death.

Her family and her friends have in her an example of a true Christian, whose loving hands never tired of doing for others. Her life was characterized by faithfulness and devotion to duty. In her recent illness she showed that same brave spirit which characterized her entire life.

Funeral services were held in the Cedar Bluff church, Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. H. N. Poston of Tipton officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Bluff cemetery.
