Funeral services for Jack Robert Robinson Sr., 60, Stanwood, were held at Sheets and Son Funeral home in Tipton June 2 with the Rev. Jaymee Glenn Burns officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery, with full military honors by the Stanwood American Legion Post. The organist was Mrs. Jo Brown and pallbearers were Tom Bell, Nelson Myers, Claire Whitman, Mike Stolte, Roland Myers and Darrell Bruhn. Masonic services were June 1.

Mr. Robinson died May 30 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.

The son of Ralph and Emma Lukemyers Robinson, he was born in Clarence Sept. 5, 1925. He attended the Tipton schools. He married Velma Mae Thurston Dec. 9, 1943 in the Tipton Methodist parsonage. He was a self-employed rock and limestone trucker. He was a former resident of Tipton and had lived in Stanwood the past 40 years.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 730 in Tipton, Fremont Lodge 616 A.F. & A.M. in Stanwood and the American Legion Post in Stanwood.

Mr. Robinson served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a technical sergeant, receiving the Silver Star and 3 battle stars.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter Debra J. O'Cain.
