25 December 1914 - The Tipton Advertiser

William Bishop Reeder was born in Goshen, Clermont Co., Ohio, November 8th, 1832. He removed with his parents, George and Sophia Reeder, to Tipton, Iowa, in the fall of 1860, locating on a farm a few miles west of this place, where he resided until 1895, when he moved into Tipton, which remained his home until his death, December 18th, 1914, aged 82 yrs, 1 mo. 10 days. The last week of his life was spent in the home of his son Fred Reeder, where loving ministration did all that was possible to make his last hours on earth bright and comfortable.

For a number of years after his arrival in Iowa Mr. Reeder engaged in teaching school, but his regular occupation was that of a farmer, into which he put such energy and intelligence as always insures success. He was also a successful business man in other lines. He was one of the charter directors of the First National--now the City National Bank, and continued in that relation to the institution till his decease.
