Permelia Gibson 1845-1913

After an illness of several weeks duration, Mrs. Permelia Gibson, 68 years of age, died Sept. 2, 1913, at the home of W. R. Conklin near Centerdale.

Deceased was born near Dubuque, Ia., Sept. 15, 1845. Her early childhood days were spent in Wisconsin, and from there, with her parents, removed to Illinois where she grew to womanhood. In the year 1865 was united in marriage to Mark Gibson, they settling on a farm in Cedar county where they lived for over thirty years. Four children were born to them, one having died in infancy. Those surviving are, W. A. Gibson of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. W. R. Conklin of West Liberty, Mrs. P. J. Bent, Omaha, Neb., and 14 grandchildren and two brothers, Chaucy of Lomax, Ill., and Henry Bowlyow of Ottumwa, Ia.

Mr. Gibson preceded her in death 9 years ago. She was a kind and loving mother and well like by all who knew her.
