E. C. Tomlinson received a telegram Friday announcing the death of his only son, Oliver, on his horse and cattle ranch in Wheeler county, Nebr., that day, July 18th.

Oliver Tomlinson was born in Belmont county, Ohio, and while a child of eight years came to Downey, Iowa, with his parents. When he was 17 years of age he went to Nebraska and married a Nebraska girl in 1890. At one time he ran a meat market at Deadwood, S.D., and afterwards came to West Branch, and afterwards conducted the meat market at Columbus Junction for 7 years. In 1901 he went west again and went into the stock business. At the time of his death he had 1,000 horses and cattle on his ranch in Wheeler county. He died of kidney and heart trouble, and was in his 52nd year. The funeral took place Sunday, July 20th.
