Richard Tucker, a pioneer farmer of Cedar county, passed away at his home near West Branch, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1922, at 10:15 a.m. He was 74 years, 8 months and 22 days of age at the time of his death.

Richard, the oldest son of Thomas Tucker and Susan Philips, was born in New York state May 24, 1847, and came to Iowa with his parents when he was ten years of age. He was united in marriage to Julia Moylan, Jan. 16, 1868. To this union were born eight children, two having preceded him in death; a son John and a daughter, Mrs. E. F. Fisher. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his death three sons, Thomas, Frank and Arthur of West Branch; three daughters, Mrs. T. J. Kenney and Mrs. D. J. Peters of Iowa City and Mrs. J. L. Gatens of Tipton, and seven grandchildren, John and Edna Kenney, Frank and Fred Fisher, Lorna and Raymond Tucker and Mary Ellen Gatens.

The funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic church at Cedar Valley, Friday morning. Rev. Father H. A. Kneble said the Requeim High Mass.
