4 December 1913 - West Branch Times

Mrs. N. H. Crook, who has been in failing health for several months, died at her home on West Main street yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock. The funeral will take place Friday morning from the home at 10:30. The interment will be in the West Branch cemetery. Obituary will be given next week.

Carrie, daughter of Aaron T and Mary N Miller, was born at West Liberty, Iowa, August 22, 1863. During her childhood she resided in New Jersey and came to West Branch, Iowa, in 1875, where she has resided the most of her life. She was united in marriage with N. H. Crook April 17, 1912. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1913, and is survived by her husband, two sisters, and one brother. Mrs. Fannie Douglass of Harvey, Iowa, Mrs. Minne Byram of Pasadena, Cal., and Charles Miller of Pasadena, Cal. The funeral took place Friday morning, December 5, at 10:30 o'clock from the home in West Branch. Rev. E. A. Coe of Oasis officiating. The interment was in the West Branch cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Douglass of Harvey, Iowa and Mrs. E. A. and Bert Strahl of Downey were among those from a distance who attended the funeral.
