Word received from Pasadena tells of the sudden death of John Chambers of that place. Mr. Chambers had an operation for stricture of the bowels and did not recover.

Mr. Chambers is well known here, at one time being senator from this district, also was the first cashier of the West Branch State Bank and was president of the School Board at one time.

He is survived by his wife and five children, his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Nate Macey, who were with him at the time of his death. A host of friends mourn with the bereaved family.
