The body of G. G. Wright was brought home last Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Wright had been visiting her sister and family at Fostoria and it was while there that Mr. Wright passed away.

He had been in feeble health for some time and after being stricken ill while on this visit, his going was not a surprise to those who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon.

George G. Wright was born September 9, 1851, near Cedar Valley, Cedar county, Iowa, and died October 14, 1922, at Fostoria, Iowa.

Practically all his life has been spent in the vicinity of West Branch. In his earlier days he knew the hardships of pioneer life. With others Mr. Wright used to drive overland to the markets on the Mississippi river and exchange farm products for food and lumber and clothing.

He was married March 18, 1877, to Cornelia Emma Allen. To this union five children were born; two of whom died in infancy. A son, J. D. Wright of Centerdale and two daughters, Mrs. Bert Pennock of West Branch, and Mrs. Clark Kester of Pasadena, California, with their mother, mourn the loss of the husband and father.

Death came after a lingering illness during which time all that can sooth and stregthen one failing in health was done. In spite of the fact that the bodily powers were failing it was wonderfully true in his life as is expressed in the fourteenth chapter of Zechariah, "But it shall come to pass that at evening time it shall be light." The writer of this obituary had talked with him and Mr. Wright knew the meaning of failing health, but like a tired traveler at the end of the day, his eyes were lifted to those hills where the sun never sets.

Interment was in the West Branch cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. W. G. Rowley of the Methodist church and Rev. Walter Wilson of the Friends church.
