Rebecca Beeson died at Normal, Neb. with La grippe at her son-in-laws John Macy. Her sickness lasted only one week, when she passed quietly and peacefully to that brighter and better home on the 10th of January 1894, in the 70th year of her age. Deceased was born in Columbiana Co., Ohio, daughter of Nathan Heald, married Richard Beeson of the same place in 1840, and had a family of seven children two dieing in infancy. They moved to Iowa in wagons in company with many others in 1850 and remained here ever since. Her funeral services where held at Hickory Grove church of which she was a faithful and consistent member. The occasion was a very solemn one. After which she was laid in the cemetery by the side of her husband who proceeded her to that Eternal City just six years. May their peace and rest be sweet. Her most pleasant home was at West Branch amid relations and friends. She was a loving and affectionate wife and mother, cheerful under all circumstances, and all her neighbors will love and bless her memory for many kindnesses received from her hands.
