The community was grieved and shocked to learn Monday afternoon of the death of John Zousel, 43, at his farm home east of the Plato school house. Mr. Zousel had been in his usual health until Sunday morning when he was stricken, and death occurred at 12:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

He was born at Cedar Valley, June 7, 1888, and his entire life was spent in this community. His parents were Frank and Helen Zousel of Cedar Valley. His father preceded him in death four years ago, but his mother still lives at Cedar Valley, with her son Joseph. The family included John, Joseph and Charles. An infant son, Francis, and Frank, aged 21 are both deceased. Charles and his family live near Cedar Valley.

Mr. Zousel was married to Miss Frances Machula, February 3, 1915. Two children were born to them, Ralph, who is now fifteen years old, and May, who is thirteen. They, with the wife, survive.

Always residents of Gower township, the Zousel family had many friends there, and since Ralph has been attending high school at West Branch, their acquaintance has widened, and many friends here will sympathize with the family at this time.

Funeral services were held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning at the family home and at St. Joseph's church, conducted by Father Moriarty. Burial was at St. Joseph's.
