25 April 1912 - West Branch Times

Anna Athelia Vincent, daughter of James H. and Hannah Thompson, was born in Cedar county, Iowa, Oct. 4, 1857, and died at West Branch, April 21, 1912, being 54 years, 6 months and 17 days old.

She was married Aug, 20, 1876, to Harry Vincent, also of Cedar county. In 1882 they removed to a farm in Pochahontas county, where they lived for three years. The following two years were spent in Calhoun county. After one year during which they lived north of Plato, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent came to Mrs. Vincent's birthplace some three and a half miles north of West Branch, and here they remained twenty years, until they moved into town.

There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Vincent, ten children, nine of whom, with their father, survive their mother: Lou E. Saylor of Solon; Leora Saylor, James Vincent, Hazel Scellars, Walter Vincent, West Branch; Flossie L. Sponey, Solon; Madge, Harlan and Hannah, West Branch.

Ten grandchildren also mourn her departure.

Mrs. Vincent has for 36 years been a member of the United Brethren church. Since coming to West Branch she has been a regular attendant of the Friends' church.
