Jane Fowlie was born at New Deere, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, March 31st, 1832, and died at the home of her nephew, Frank Fowlie, Sunday morning, Oct. 7th, 1906, aged 74 years, 6 months and 7 days.

She left Scotland in 1868 and lived with her brother. They came about five years later to Iowa and lived one year in Cedar county. She went from here to Benton county, which was her home until 1904, when owing to the death of her brother she came to Clarence.

Funeral services were held at the Fowlie home Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. D. M. Oglivie. Her remains were taken to Norway, Benton county on Tuesday for burial in the family lot in the Parker's Grove Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowlie accompanied the remains to their last resting place.
