19 February 1942 - The West Branch Times

The death of Mrs. Guy Young, 41, occurred at her home on North Downey street early Tuesday morning. Mrs. Young had been taking hospital treatments for several weeks but her death was unexpected.

Lillian Agnes Drennan was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Drennan, born November 30, 1900 at Moorland, Iowa. She was married to Guy Young, February 3, 1930. The family came to West Branch from Lehigh five years ago, then moved to Centralia, Ill. for a short time, returning here two years ago. Mrs. Young's five children kept her from making a wide acquaintance during her residence here, but to those who knew her her personality was marked by a perennial cheerfulness and capacity for friendship.

She is survived by her husband and five children: Leona May, Francis Edward, Laura, Leo Ray and Donald Glenn, her mother, Mrs. M. F. Drennan of Moorland, three brothers, Martin Drennan of Clare and Merle and Mike Drennan of Moorland; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Karney of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Mary Hewett of Minneapolis, Minn. Her father and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held in the Methodist church Thursday morning at ten o'clock conducted by the Rev. James P. Gable and burial will be made at Lehigh.
