Daniel Ehresman was born in Ryeberrie county, Germany, in 1830, and came to this country in 1852, landing in New York and making his home at Utica, that state, for three years. In 1855 he came to Cedar county, Iowa, where he has made his home since that time.

He died June 19, 1910, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was married in Muscatine, September 5, 1957, to Miss Magdalna Miller.

To this union twelve children were born, ten boys and two girls, but three have preceded the father to the other shore. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, nine children and thirty nine grandchildren. The children are, Henry, Jacob and William, of Miller, Nebraska; John of Burwell, Nebraska; Daniel of Krass, Texas; Charles, of Lisbon, Iowa; Alex, Mrs. Lizzie Brown and Mrs. Mary Ackey, of Cedar Bluffs, Iowa. The three dead are Frank, Joseph and Edward.

Mr. Ehrsman was well and favorably known in the community in which he lived for fifty-five years, and was thus one of the "Old Settlers."
