Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock at the Evangelical church in Bennett for Heinrick Frederick Dietrick Edler, who passed away Thursday afternoon Nov. 30th, after a lingering illness. He was born Sept. 21, 1860, in Estarf-Hanover, Germany, and was married in Germany to Wilhelmina Thoermann. In 1888 the couple came from Germany to Clarence, and with the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska, the home was always in Cedar county. The last 23 years he has spent in Bennett. His wife preceded him in death. Since October, Mr. Edler has made his home with his daughter in Clarence. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Marie Meyer of Clarence, Mrs. Lena Kohlhoff of Lowden, Mrs. Anna Mixell of Stanwood, Mrs. Louise Bauer of Bennett, and Mrs. Minnie Rankin of North Platte, Neb.; also 4 sons, Fred of Tipton, Henry of Iowa City, William of Davenport and John of Denver, Colorado. Services were at the Meyer home in Clarence at 12 o'clock Sunday and one o'clock at the Evangelical church in Bennett.
