Mrs. Mary G. Elliott quietly passed away at her home south of town at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 5th, after an illness of several months duration.

Mrs. Elliot has resided in this community ever since her marriage to Anah S. Elliot, who preceded her in death in 1912. She was a member of the Church of God of Cedar Rapids.

The funeral services were held from the home Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. A. E. Rather of the Church of God of Cedar Rapids officiating. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mary G. Bates, daughter of David M. and Mary J. Bates, was born at Rochester, Iowa, June 8, 1857 and died at her home in Cedar county, October 5, 1930.

November 13, 1879 she married Anah S. Elliott, who preceded her in death February 12, 1912.

To this union were born four children: Sylvanna Elliott West of Pittsfield, Mass., Mary of Mechanicsville, William A. who died in 1895 at the age of two years and Hugh W. of Mechanicsville.
