GREENE - At Davenport, Iowa, October 13, 1897, Mrs. D. G. Greene, aged 70 years.

Miss Ann Pirie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1827. She came to America with her parents, who first settled in Ohio, but moved to Cedar county, Iowa, in 1840. She came to Tipton in 1850, and resided here continuously from that time until her death. At an early age she united with the M.E. church. She was married to Mr. D. G. Greene, July 9, 1866. Her health failed rapidly during the past year and only a few days before her death she was taken to Davenport where special care and treatment could be obtained. The end came October 13, 1897. The remains were brought to Tipton for burial. Rev. W. W. Johnson conducted the funeral services at the home Friday, October 15th. The interment was in Red Oak cemetery.
