18 May 1873 - The Tipton Advertiser

DIED at the home of her parents, in Red Oak, on Tuesday, April 29th, 1873, Miss LYDIA GOODRICH, in the twenty-third year of her age.

The sudden death of an estimable young lady is thus briefly told in the usual cold form of giving to the public an event that desolates some hearthstone. Miss Goodrich was taken with that disease now so common, the measles. It very soon assumed an alarming character, and after several days of wild insanity and cruel suffering, death intervened. Her afflicted parents, brothers and sisters have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
