Mrs. Wm. Bagley Dies At Capital
Pioneer Resident of Tipton Has Passed Away

Word was received by George Bagley, of 210 West Eighth street, Sunday, announcing the death of his mother, Mrs. William Bagley, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. R. McClellan, in Des Moines, Ia. Mrs. Bagley has been failing since last September, and her death was due to the infirmities of old age.

Nancy Jane Chambers was born in Washington county, Ind., on June 12, 1834, and came to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Chambers, Sr., in May, of 1836. Mr. Chambers located in Muscatine county, near the mouth of Pine creek, and made his home there until about three years prior to his death, when he came to Muscatine with his son, Vincent Chambers, at whose home he died.

Nancy Jane Chambers was married on January 1st, 1853, to William Bagley of Tipton, Ia. To them were born three children--George, who resides in this city; Mrs. F. R. McClellan, of Des Moines, Ia.; and Mary, who died in Des Moines in 1883. William Bagley preceded his wife in death almost two years ago.

Mrs. Bagley, at the age of 76, was the last of a large family of brothers and sisters to die, her entire family having gone before her. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday of this week.--Muscatine Journal
