She moved with her parents to a farm in Cedar county at the age of 11 years. Here she attended country school and Clarence high school. She spent all her married life in Tipton with the exception of six years spent on a farm.

She taught a number of years after marriage and for several years she had interest in a millinery and ready-to-wear shop.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian church, Tipton, joining by letter from the church in Clarence. She was very active in the church and Sunday school work as long as health would permit. She was also active in the Rebekah lodge and other social affairs.

Her parents, six sisters and her brother preceded her in death. Her husband and one sister are left to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held in the Peterseim funeral home with Rev. Harold Kratzat officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
