Funeral service was held at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Sheets & Dahn Funeral Home here for Henry Martens, a former resident of Tipton community who died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Margaret Kite at Walnut, Ia.

Interment was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Martens was born July 28, 1864, in Schleswig, Germany.

Survivors include Dora Gladfelter of Texas; Albert Marten of Ohio and Edward Marten of Wilton Jct.; Margaret Kite of Walnut, Iowa; Frieda Bowman of Moscow, Iowa; Thelma Griffen of Moline, Ill.; Lester Martens of Golden, Colorado; Norwin Martens of Tipton, and 33 grandchildren.
