Tipton relatives received word of the death Sunday evening of Millard F. Moreland at Los Angeles, California, where he had been making his home of late with his daughter Mrs. James Redd. Mr. Moreland was a resident of Cedar county for many years, and active in farm operation while a resident here.

Millard F. Moreland, youngest son of Mary and David Moreland, was born August 13th, 1861, in Cedar County, Iowa, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Redd, in Los Angels, Calif., Aug, 18, 1941, aged 80 years and 4 days.

He spent his childhood and youth on a farm 3 1/2 miles northeast of Tipton and in 1888 was united in marriage to Carrie J. Warner.

Mr. Moreland suffered a stroke of paralysis five and a half years ago and has slowly failed in health during those years.

Besides his son and daughter, two grandsons and one granddaughter survive him. He was laid to rest beside his wife in beautiful Inglewood Park cemetery, Inglewood, Calif.
