George W. Hageman, son of Adrian, Fannie Hageman, was born June 24, 1876, at Laddonia, Mo. He departed this life at his home near Hiawatha, Kansas, May 19, 1945, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, 25 days. He died instantly from a heart attack as he began his dinner Saturday.

August 16, 1905, George Hageman was married to Lizzie M. Ploeger at her home near White Cloud, Kansas. Later they moved to Charles City, Iowa.

To this union were born five children, of whom three sons survive: Benjamin Henry, of White Cloud; Edward William, of White Cloud; Charles Adrian, of Girard, Kansas. Two daughters died in their infancy at Clarence.

Mr. Hageman was graduate of Central Wesleyan college, Missouri university, Iowa university. He was superintendent of high school in Warrenton, Mo., major in military academy, Kirksville, Mo., taught for time in state of Georgia, was principal of Charles City high school. For 12 years he practiced dentistry in Clarence.

He removed from Clarence to Brown county, Kansas, in 1920, to a farm which had been the girlhood home of Mrs. Hageman. Here three sons grew to manhood, established their homes. The spacious Hageman home was remodeled into three apartments occupied by Dr.-Mrs. Hageman, Ben, his family; Edward, his family.

Dr. Hageman became a member of the Methodist church early in life and was always a faithful and useful member. He served as superintendent of Sunday schools thru 35 years in communities where he resided.

To those who die in Christ, all is gain. George Hageman lived, labored for his family. No one more dearly loved or more thoroughly enjoyed grand-babies than he. There are nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, from Zion Methodist church conducted by Rev. Gilbert Meyers, of Topeka, assisted by Rev. Elsie Nicklin. Burial at Mount Hope cemetery, Hiawatha.
